Scandinavia´s Fantastisk Film Festival
A film festival without limits. The Fantastic Film Festival (FFF) is an international Film Festival of distinction. Every September, the Swedish cities of Lund and Malmoe are turned into the El Dorado of science fiction, fantasy and horror films. Fantastic films are about imagination, about stretching the limits between dream and reality. Whether it’s science fiction’s view of the future, a fantasy film’s musings on other worlds or super-natural phenomena, or the nightmarish visions of the horror movie, the aim of the festival is to help stretch the limits of the imagi-nation, and to reinforce the intrinsic value of creativity in films. A fantastic film can be anything from a debut from a filmmaker with a strong vision and limited funds, to a grandiose, lavish Hollywood production featuring established actors and directors. The festival welcomes the minute and the gigantic, and price tags don’t determine which films qualify. An international film festival is a meeting place, an exchange across cultural and national borders. FFF celebrates the limitless as a cultural principle. Film is fantasy. Fantasy is limitless. Film is Fantastic!

The New Zealand Film Festivals
The New Zealand Film Festival is a charitable trust established in 1996 by the New Zealand Federation of Film Societies.
THE AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Founded in 1970 as a component of the Auckland Festival, the Auckland International Film Festival in time became a fund-raising event subsidising live arts. Rescued from this role by the intervention of the Federation of Film Societies in 1984, the 30th Festival in 1998 achieved an audience of 86,500.
THE WELLINGTON FILM FESTIVAL was inaugurated with seven films in 1972 to supplement the meagre options of Wellington filmgoers. In 1999 those options were not at all meagre, but the Festival continued to grow, showing 120 programmes to audiences in excess of 65,000. The Festival has a long tradition of supporting New Zealand filmmakers. The main venue is the magnificent Embassy Theatre and the Festival has played a major role in the theatre's rehabilitation and continuing refurbishment.

As we look towards the 8th YAMAGATA International Documentary Film Festival scheduled in 2003, we hope once again it will become a place of much enjoyment for the directors from many countries and the people of Yamagata City.
